Research can be so distracting sometimes. While searching for articles on slit screen editing, i get side tracked into looking for multiplayer games and the four way split screen then I get sucked into an e-book theorising the relationship between operator and machine. Diegetic and nondiegetic actions and the four means of control. Riveting stuff that would have been awesome LAST year.
Pausing a game is a nondiegetic action as it occurs outside the machine, the machine has no idea when its coming, and theres no explanation in story.
Man I could read this stuff all week if given the chance.
And now I have to find a movie i had never heard about that would be awesome for my essay as its entirely 4 screens all the way. Maybe JBHiFi has it.

How is the script writing going? Well, I totally scrapped my tv series and took it in a far better direction. (which my lecturer was thrilled to see) and im getting the hang of writing synopsis. Only got one episode though but will work more on that after ive done this essay due monday.
I should be doing it now, but you know.
I bought Dexter season 2 yesterday as i had missed the third episode due to essay writing, so I thought meh why the hell not. I got some free dexter stuf with it too. Some crime scene do not cross tape, which went straight over my doorway in a diagonal. As well as an evidence bag, rubber glove, toe tag, security seal and a (Plastic) slide with blood (paint).
Awesomest free stuff ever.
So today i buy some chalk so i can create murder aftermaths on the driveway. We've got a double homicide out there at the moment. Two victims, two knives. Maybe they killed each other or maybe it was set up that way. Who knows.
The only question worth asking is why havent I done this sooner?
Dexter is good television. It makes me feel crappy as I could never be that good. But then I look at Joss Whedons buffy pilot script and hope returns once more.
Ok funny thing happened to me last night. So I decided to do the geeky thing and order some welders goggles and gloves to create a dr horrible costume. (still need to find a lab coat) anyway i find this nz site thats cheap and in napier. I dont care if they are budget as meh I tried.
The way to order was weird you fill out what you want then they send you the proce you pay it and tell them and then they send it to you.
Well after 4 days i finally heard back so i paid it yesterday. Then at 8pm i was called up by the guy who runs the store to tell me the gloves i want arent there anymore. He tells me he'll send other ones but they dont have something. I dont know, Im not a welder. All I cared about was if they were white, which I didnt ask because I didnt want him to know I was buying gloves for non welding purposes. Haha embarassing, i didnt even bother asking if there was a price difference. And I think he was weirded out by that. He was all the seams arent pleated or something and I was all: Ah well thats ok (Whaaaat?)
Ah, good times.
So now I am awaiting my package. I hope it comes tomorrow and not when im at work on friday.
I dont think I'll care if the gloves arent accurate enough as theres a hilarious story behind that.
And the goggles are the same, mostly because exact replicas are impossible to get.
So yeah big giant geek. Yay. Its nice to have a passion again.
I want to have a dr horrible party for my bday in 2 weeks but I havent really invited anyone thats not natalie and julie, and dont know enough people anymore that have seen it or would want to come and singalong without needing alcohol. So maybe I'll just scrap it. Also since dr h is no longer on hulu for nonusa its a little bit of an issue. As I cant predict if i can get it seamless like I used to. Maybe international itunes will be released before hand. Twitter says very VERY soon. So fingers crossed.
I wouldnt mind hosting a murder mystery though, that'd be fun. Ive got crime scene tape.
Now I just need one of those kits I guess.
Im listening to almost all my hcrfm on random plus others. I am missing vol3. Thats a shame. And Vol 13 isnt uploaded yet. Shrug.
Well, that about does it for tonight, Im thinking I might aim for that 1000 episodes and call it quits. we'll see. Microblogging on twitter is the way of the future.
Too bad im the only one who uses it. (Bar natalie three times..) sheesh people catch up. This is not the same as facebook, its sooo much more simplistic.

Oh I saw leonie a week ago, i forgot to mention that. was good times. We discussed topics both trivial and cerebral. And trivially pursuit.
And we entered the once around the velodrome cycle olympic event of which I won gold by like 8 seconds.
Natalie took home the silver and leonie was killed in an explosion at the fireworks factory. It was pretty gruesome. Gruesome but pretty.
