Im lying on my bed trapped under my laptop as so you think you can dance plays on my tv. I cant turn it off! Wargh!
I had the craziest thing happen to me at work today. OK so its just a normal day, very wet and i have lots of dvd related tasks to do. Then theres a bird that gets trapped inside. And then i try to get it out and it flys into the office, I leave it there for a while and then i try to shoo it with an umbrella. I give up as it just keeps smashing into things and then flying into high places.
Then when lucy arrives i show her theres a bird trapped inside the office, so we both try to get it out, lucy stands on the desk trying to get the bird out from a box on a shelf and im waiting for it to fly down so I can chase it through the door. This is all for the good of the bird.
All of a sudden a leg of the desk gives way, and then the whole thing begins to fall over. With EVERYTHING on it. Including the computer that all the cameras are connected to and lucy. Quickly I rush to save the computer from smashing on the ground and i do save it. And now im stuck holding a diaganol desk that gets more and more slantier, lucy jumps off once she gets ofver her inital shock and we are laughing so hard at the crazy disaster we narrowly avoided. Lucy goes under to see whats wrong and if tis fixable. Forutnatly the legs had just come out a little and just needed to be put upright again. Which required lifting the desk. with everything on it. That failed and everything barring the computer (thankfully) came crashing off into a mess. We were frantic and lucy still ahd to serve customers as i remained preventing a desk and computer from falling to the ground.
We decided to try again and both adjusted the desk so the surface was at least level.
Eventually we decide to text sam who lives down the road and starts work in an hour. As lucy was not strong enough to bend the legs back and if i moved everything would break and die.
He took his sweet time getting there, and when we yelled for him to get in the office his paced remained the same. I yelled at him some more until he got in the office, he laughed and then fixed the bottom of the desk so everything precariously stayed without me having to hold it.
Of course looking under the right back leg is incredibly crooked and the front leg is slightly bent and the wood around it kind of showing..
Any extra weight, say leaning against it, would probably cause it to fall down again. Without a me there to catch it.
Me and lucy decided on the story that we heard a noise from the office and got there just in time to catch the desk before disastor struck. We are not telling them that lucy was standing on the desk trying to get a bird out of the office with an umbrella.
It took me an hour to stop shaking from the near disaster and also the 20 minutes of supporting a desk and computer.
ahaha i really hope i dont go into to work tomorrow to see a smashed computer. STRESS.
Phew i couldnt keep that a secret. Its nice to have a place to unload crazy secrets like that.
Im hungry. I have something microwaveable thats been in the freezer for 3 weeks. I should eat that.
